The Mature Lady’s Gown
There are many people who feel that mature ladies who have been married before can still wear white. It seems to be a common opinion that women, marrying for the 2nd or 3rd time wearing colors other than white is an old fashioned tradition. However, whether a mature woman wears white or not the type of dress she wears is still very important. A woman who is 45 or 50 years old will not look the same as a blushing bride of 20 years old in a long and flowing sleeveless dress. This is not to say that mature women cannot look sexy in their wedding gowns but at the same time they need to use a little bit of discretion when choosing an appropriate gown.
The best suggestion for a mature woman, whether she wears white or not is to wear something intelligent yet elegant. Sleeveless is fine but perhaps rather than flowing at the bottom a nice form fitting knee length dress would be more appropriate. Peach, pal pink, lavender and even blues are favorite colors among mature brides. The truth of the matter is it really does not matter when you come right down to it as long as the bride is happy with what she is wearing and that she enjoys her day, that is the most important thing. Mature women get married all the time and they wear a number of different things. The thing to remember is to try and wear something that is at least age appropriate and not meant for 16 year olds.
